OCTOBER!!!

Happy Halloween from the Bollinger County Library!! We have another busy month ahead of us here at the library. I am hosting two events this month! One which is tomorrow night is Mystery Night which will be board games and talking about Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew Books(it will be more exciting than it sounds!) Teen Night which will be on Friday the 19th from 6-8 pm. We will explore are new selection of graphic novels, eat pizza and design our own graphic novel page on the Internet! October 18th we are having Dr. Joel Rhodes from Southeast Missouri University will come and speak about the Life and Times of Louis Houck the father of southeast Missouri! The mysterious Phenomenon Group will have the doors open to the public Oct. 23rd from 5:30-6:30 pm on the discussion of ghosts! The grand finale of the month will be our HALLOWEEN PARTY from 4:30-7 pm on Oct. 31st. I am excited about this event open for all ages including FOOD, STORYTELLING and much more! Mural Pics

Hello! I have got the photos of our amazing two day painting fest. Craig Thomas,a wonderful artist based out of Cape Girardeau Mo, came to the Bollinger County Library in June to create an outdoor wall mural. The first day I thought their was no way this was going to work. It looked like pencil scribbles to myself. By the end of the first day it was great the community patrons came to put their stamp on history in progress and hustling and bustling everywhere. The final work was definitely a piece of art. The Missouri Arts Council helped with funding along with the library.
