Summer Happenings @ The Bollinger County Library
The library has been busy with the summer reading programs for all the young ones this season. Catch the Reading Bug focusing on the 0-6 age group is hopping with youngsters on a weekly basis. The hour starts with a book reading and continues into a craft. The children seem to love it. The Metamorphosis of a Bug is focused on the 7-12 year olds. The hour has been starting with the identification of insects found in Bollinger County then leading into a craft. The favorite time of this hour is all of us looking for new books to read! The Metamorphosis of a Song is geared toward teens and up. A singer/songwriter, Doug Rees, has come twice to talk to the teens how the songs they hear get to the radio station. Doug also speaks about where his ideas come from with each song he writes. The best part is to listen to him sing and play his own music right there with you! It has been fascinating so far he will be coming to library July 9th, 16th and the 23rd at 1 pm. It is free and all can come.
Huge Book Sale
The library has done some weeding of books. The flood brought on some mandatory remodeling of the juvenile room plus shifting our books to higher ground. The benefits for you are that we have gone through all our shelves and cleared out thousands of books which are now on sale. The best part of this is the funds from the sale books will be used for all new books! The library has already enhanced many areas with new 2008 books for you to check out. So be sure to stop buy and browse our book sale and through the isles and see if we have something you may be interested in!
NASA Traveling Bus Exhibit @ Your Library
The NASA bus from Columbus Ohio will be coming to the Bollinger County Library on July 25th from 10-6 pm and July 26th from 9-1 pm. The bus has a flat screen TV with captain chairs and air conditioning so you are comfortable while watching films that tell you all about NASA. Come with your family and a list of questions!
