The Bollinger County Library is excited about our upcoming Summer Picnic, which will be held at the Twin City Airport on July 29th at 10 am. Every year at the end of the summer reading program the library hosts a picnic to celebrate with the young children and young adults for all their dedication to reading over the summer months. Prizes are awarded and water games are played and of course the hot dogs and drinks! Please make sure to stop by and visit us at the airport on Wednesday the 29th at 10 am.
The library is proud to be partnered with the Mers/Goodwill this season in participating with the Summer Jobs initiative. We have three young adults who have been working with us here at the library for a month and will continue until the end of August. The young adults are a breath of fresh air when discussing topics such as book selections or doing book reviews on teen and tween books. They are a tremendous benefit with the Wii Play Days every Friday from 9-5 pm due to the fact they know how to play game strategies and work the remotes! The kids also, help with many tasks that staff is not capable of doing when needed due to lack of hours in a day. The young adults are learning a great deal about the responsibility of working along with what librarians do with their day. They have mentioned their amazement that of what all is done in a matter of a day by each one of us staff members. We are proud and thankful for these young adults to be part of the library and thankful for the Mers/Goodwill program for bringing the Summer Jobs Initiative to Bollinger County.
RUNESCAPE will be held on July 30th from 6-8 pm! Call with any questions at 238-2713.
